Every year I have come up with the total amount of butter, eggs, onions, flour, etc, across all my Thanksgiving recipes. This year I made a spreadsheet. Ingredients down the left, recipes across the top, and a multiplier for how many batches of each recipe. (With 20 people this year, including 6 Marines, I’m quadrupling the Mac and Cheese and the chocolate pies.) Then I used the SUM function for all of it. Ta-da! I need 73 T of butter this year! 😂 And in future years it’ll be easy to recalculate based on the number of guests.
