Back to School Blitz Win! Thanks to my blitz skills developed over the previous two years, this year, when the school supply lists appeared in late June, I immediately “shopped” in my pre-paid school supplies store in my basement and learned what I already had, then placed my order. I also ordered uniforms that week. When the school supplies and uniforms showed up in early August, I wasted no time labeling them and identifying missing items or wrong sizes that needed returning. I had three whole weeks left to solve those problems and did that at times convenient to me. This weekend, Julien brought our son home from camp with a rental car. Then Saturday night, he told me we still had the rental until Monday morning. Because I was ready for back to school, when he proposed that we take advantage of the car to spend a few hours at our local pirate-themed aerial park, where we have a family pass we had yet to use, I was able to say yes enthusiastically. And when he said we should spend the rest of the day at our enormous farmer’s market in Montreal, I knew we had time to do that too, and now my kitchen is loaded with colourful, healthy food. Last night we came home happy and exhausted, and it only took me ten minutes to bring Joanne’s bin out of the basement and fill up her bags for school. We had a smooth send-off to Grade 5 this morning. Thank you #backtoschoolblitz ! #myextra5
